Shooting Commercial for A.I.C.E. in Nashville

We had a great time this past weekend 20th to 22nd of Jan. We went down to Nashville, where we shot a commercial for the upcoming event called A.I.C.E.
We also shot two "Celtic Font" clips for youtube and a few clips for our new band "Flagstone".
It was all great fun and I met some very interesting people. Lance, who shot the video for us, is a professional film maker and works with all the Nashville stars. He was very good and put up with a lot from us Irish crowd who, of course, laughed the whole way through.

Singing and set dancing classes Jan 2012

Hi all,
I have not been keeping my website up to date but I will be doing a better job from now on, I promise.
Well first of all, I am in Cincinnati, Ohio and I am looking forward to getting back to teaching at the Irish Heritage Centre again this term. Enrollment is 17th Jan for traditional singing and 19th Jan for set dancing.
We had a great time and lots of fun the last term but the numbers were not very high.
I would like to have at least 7 for singing and two sets for dancing (16 people).

Youtube clips

Hi there,
Well as you know we played this year at the Bath folk festival and our friends there have just put up some clips of our concert.
I hope you like them. I would appreciate some nice comments. We had a great week there. We were teaching and playing and the sessions after concerts were great. All you have to do is go to youtube and enter my name, and up they come.
Enjoy the clips.

Bath Folk Fest

Once again, we preformed at the Bath folk fest and we had a ball. I brought my son Seamus over with me this year and he joined myself and Ray on stage for the concert we did along side one of the English greats "Steve Tilston".
I had a great week teaching singing and then at the weekend I was teaching Set-dancing.
We had great sessions and the musicians were from far and wide. Henry Sears, (fiddle player supreme) Alan Burke singer and guitar player, flute player Marick Baxter, Ray Coen, Seamus and a lot more where there most nights.

Mai on youtube

Just a short note to let you know that there are a few clips of me on youtube. If you put my name in on youtube you will see me there. I also uploaded one song while I was singing by the fire, I was thinking of putting a fireside collection of songs up. I will work on that one and see if I can do something better.

Bath Folk Festival

Hi All,

I had a great time in England while there. Myself and Ray Coen, who play's guitar and fiddle with me have just returned from a short tour around London, Slough, and Bath. We had some great gigs in London at the Walthamstow folk club where Russ and Kevin held a special night for us and where I had my London Launch of the CD. We then went down to Tom Kings pub in Slough, where we met some great people. Great musicians and singers and of course Tom himself was in great form.

CD launch last Fri. 9th July

Hi all,

Had a great night on Friday last with the launch of my new CD. We started off at around 10pm. I had my son, Seamus and Rodney who plays on the CD with me, and also I had Ray Coen who does gigs with me both here and abroad. We were joined by my oldest son who was a special guest on fiddle for some of the set.

The great and talented Seamie O'Dowd launched the CD and he sang a few songs. I had great pleasure in singing with him on stage. Paddy Morgan who also plays on the CD joined us for a few tunes on stage.
